The PMA Parts Finder gives access to about 450,000 FAA PMA approval entries and their 2,225 current, unique PMA holders representing 2,750 company listings. There are currently 384,000 cross references between PMA and OEM part numbers. The data is compiled into a relational database container with printed list, mail-merge, and address label capability for PMA holders and the ability to match external part lists against the PMA Parts Finder.

The PMA Parts Finder is a relational database implementation of all known FAA PMA, Canadian PDA, and Australian APMA parts. Data is derived from the FAA PMA and Canadian MOT data supplemented with additional listings derived from many other sources. You can search for parts by part name, OEM or PMA part number, aircraft and/or model of installation, approval authority, etc. You can create and then merge various lists to create specific groupings or "query on query" capabilities. PMA holder lists can be output to printed lists, commaor quote-mark delimited mail merge files or to any one of 150 English or metric Avery brand mailing labels.
Functions exist for matching externally generated parts lists against those of the PMA Parts Finder. You can find all PMA equivalents to your list of OEM parts or you can find PMA equivalents to your list of PMA parts.
The PMA Holder database contains names and addresses of all known PMA holders including phone, FAX, EMail and web contact information for many entries.
The PMA Parts Finder CD contains FAR's and FAA orders and bilateral agreements pertinent to the PMA industry. There are also all TSO's, interactive FAA forms (Meaning you can fill them out on screen and print them), 9,000 PMA supplement sheets and about 1,000 pages of manufacturer data such as parts and price lists, catalogs, etc.
The data is indexed for search by various criteria. You can search for PMA approved parts by OEM or PMA P/N, name, aircraft/engine/propeller of installation, or PMA holder. You can search for holders by name, city, state, etc. The PMA Parts Finder also tracks PMA ownership transfers substituting new holder names and addresses for the original FAA listings.
The database presently contains all PMA's formerly published by the FAA (About 400,000 items), plus about 50,000 listings obtained from other sources mainly PMA supplement sheet copies that are not included in the FAA database. For information on the FAA database of PMA parts click here.
Version 6 of the PMA Parts Finder was released November 2004 and added such features as the ability to query on design approval type (T&C, Identicality or License). Screens were simplified, wizards added to step novices through the task of querying the database for parts, and a completely new database search engine employed. The PMA to PMA parts matching wizard was rewritten to be faster and more robust. (PMA to PMA finds PMA equivalents to a list of PMA parts by matching both against the OEM part the PMA part replaces.)
The PMA Parts Finder can be used to create mailing lists to PMA part producers. Use these lists for advisement, inquiry or solicitation. Output can be directed to any of 150 pre-programmed, sheet-feed, English or metric measurement, Avery mailing labels. Or direct the output to a disk file for merging with form letters or for import into other programs.
The program contains the Address Manager that finds duplicate addresses for holders, multiple holders at the same address, holders in the same city or state or postcode. Address Manager also tracks changes in PMA ownership such as Airresearch to Garrett to AlliedSignal, to Honeywell, Int'l. etc. and provides background information on certain mergers and acquisitions. The PMA approvals themselves are keyed to the current holder of record and not to the original holder giving the user access to the current holder of the PMA rather than a company that no longer exists. Listings for old addresses are combined with listings for new address of the same PMA holder with duplicate approvals under the multiple addresses removed. Even if you don't have the current name or address usually you can still find the current holder by way of the old name or address.
You can build lists and combine them. For example, suppose you want to mail a product announcement to all PMA producers of Cessna and Piper landing gear components. You would build separate lists of Cessna and Piper manufactured specific parts and combine them into a single list. Then you would print the list to labels sorted by postal codes. Construction of the mailing list would take only a few minutes.
Parts lists for an individual or group of PMA part producers are easily created.
A Parts Matching Wizard will find PMA alternatives to a list of OEM numbers, or find PMA equivalents to a list of PMA equivalents. The first wizard is used mainly by parts users searching for PMA alternatives to OEM parts and the second by PMA parts producers looking for parts that compete with their product line.
Common Uses:
Some noteworthy users of the PMA Parts Finder:
The PMA parts industry is growing at a very fast rate. Over the past 6 years an average of 1,800 new approvals have been added to the PMA Part Finder database monthly. About 100 new companies are added to the PMA holder list annually. Additionally, there are continuous changes in acquisitions, mergers, and moves all of which are tracked in the PMA Parts Finder.
Database updates are posted three times a month to the ADR website and can be obtained from within the PMA Parts Finder program by Live Update from the ADR websites. Updates are also available by ordering a new CD each month. While the PMA data is the same as in an electronic update, each new CD will contain any additions to the growing list of PMA supplement sheet images. (Presently about 9,000 pages)

INSTANT DELIVERY: Internet delivery of the program by download is continuously available. Caution: The installation program is about 55 MB so you need a high speed (DSL, cable, T-1 or better) connection. CD follows by snail mail.
DEMO VERSION: The Demo version is the same as the delivery version with a few features unavailable in the Demo. The Demo version will operate for 30 days. Click HERE to download the Demo version.
ANTI-PIRACY PROVISIONS: Each installation of the PMA Parts Finder must be registered for the machine upon which it is installed. This involves submitting a machine "fingerprint" for an unlock code. Even the demo requires fingerprint submission and an unlock code. Each fully paid PMA Parts Finder installation carries with it two installations. That is, each purchased program may be installed on two separate machines.
